سوال و جواب مکالمه انگلیسی مکالمه انگلیسی با موضوع آزمایش روی حیوانات - Animal Testing

Question 1

1. Do you think animal testing should be considered on a case by case basis? If so, under what circumstance and to what extent should it be allowed?

Accepted Answer

medium: Yes, I believe that animal testing should be considered on a case by case basis. There are certain circumstances where it may be necessary to test on animals, such as when developing medical treatments that could save human lives. In these cases, it is crucial that there are strict regulations in place to ensure minimal suffering and that alternatives, such as computer simulations , are considered first. However, I also agree with animal rights activists in that we should always prioritize the well-being of animals, and if we can achieve our goals without testing on them, we should. Ultimately, it is about finding a balance between the benefits to human health and the ethical treatment of animals.

medium: I think animal testing should only be permitted when the potential benefits substantially outweigh the risks involved. For example, in the development of vaccines during a health crisis, where the outcome could significantly impact public health, animal testing may be justified. In such scenarios, it is critical that the testing is conducted ethically and that efforts are made to ensure that any discomfort is minimized. However, we must also advocate for the use of alternative methods that do not involve animals whenever possible. It is a complex issue that requires careful consideration.

hard: I am inclined to believe that the ethical treatment of animals should not be sacrificed for human benefit . While advancements in medicine are essential, we must consider the suffering we impose on living beings. In cases where animal testing is deemed absolutely necessary, it should only be allowed under stringent guidelines to ensure that the animals are treated as humanely as possible. Also, researchers should actively seek alternatives that can provide similar data without compromising animal rights. In essence, we cannot disregard animal welfare in the pursuit of human progress.

Question 2

2. Do you think animal testing for cosmetics and household products should be banned?

Accepted Answer

medium: I believe that animal testing for cosmetics and household products should be banned due to the unethical treatment these animals often endure. It is important to recognize that animals have the right to live their lives peacefully , and inflicting pain and suffering on them for human benefits is not justifiable. Moreover, with the advancement of technology , we now have several alternatives like computer simulations that can effectively replace the need for animal testing, ensuring that research can continue without being cruel towards animals.

hard: While I understand the arguments of supporters of animal testing suggesting that it provides vital data for medical research , I still think that the pain and suffering caused to animals cannot be justified. Over the years, the scientific community has developed many human-relevant methods of testing that can ensure safety and efficacy without harming animals. Thus, I firmly stand on the position that animal testing for cosmetics should be banned as it is simply not necessary anymore.

medium: I think a complete ban on animal testing for all purposes may not be practical. However, for cosmetics and household products, there is no need to continue such practices when there are safer alternative methods available. The focus should be on promoting further innovation in the field of non-animal testing methodologies and making these more widely accepted in both scientific communities and public policies.
